Welcome to The Incapables!

The name is a play on words, of course, because we are not incapable at all. You are not disabled. You are less abled.
Prove everyone wrong.

This content is built from real experience, honesty, and hope.

  • Challenges defines and explains challenges that we face. This is for everyone.
  • For Me is for stroke survivors to help cope with these challenges.
  • My Team is for anyone that supports us. Our family, friends, and carers.

Each one focuses on a different part of recovery, daily life, and who it’s intended for.

Challenges

The ‘Challenges’ sections define everyday hurdles that can come with life after a stroke or sudden disability.

You’ll find articles that describe what these challenges can feel like, from getting dressed and cooking to travelling and socialising again. Each article offers understanding, empathy, and honesty. The aim is to help you realise that you’re not alone in facing these struggles, and that every challenge can be made easier when you know what to expect and how to adapt.

For Me

The ‘For Me’ section is written mainly for stroke survivors living with sudden disability.

It’s about practical advice, emotional healing, and rediscovering your independence. You’ll find articles that share lived experiences and realistic ways to make daily life a little smoother. From learning how to shop safely, to managing spasticity, or rebuilding confidence, this is your personal guide to living life on your own terms again.

My Team

The ‘My Team’ section is designed for the family, friends, and supporters.
No one goes through recovery alone.

Those who want to understand what their loved one is going through and how to help in kind, practical ways will particularly benefit. It includes advice on how to support with daily tasks, communicate with patience, and care without overstepping. It’s about teamwork, compassion, and learning together so that everyone can adjust and move forward with strength.
